Iceland's Netgíró and DalPay in cooperation
Netgíró, a company that offers Icelandic customers the ability to receive products and services before paying for them, has signed an agreement with the payment company DalPay, and partners Valitor and Borgun.
The agreement means that online sellers who use DalPay Retail can now offer customers Netgíró as an alternative payment option.
Netgíró is an Icelandic version of services such as PayPal's Bill Me Later, an alternative to using credit or debit cards online, extending credit at the point of purchase to online shoppers.
"Transactions with Netgíró do not require use of credit cards and customers can choose to spread payments by installment payments for up to 12 months on favourable terms. Netgíró cardless transactions are paid either in one amount after 14 days, or in installments, and are simple, safe and convenient," says the press release of Netgíró.
It also says that the service has been very well received and a number of registered customers have already taken advantage of it. "In the first month, about 20,000 customers registered with Netgíró and about 400 sellers accept it."
